Today marks the 42 anniversary of Bahr El-Baqar Elementary School Massacre.
The Bahr el-Baqar massacre occurred on 8 April 1970, during the War of Attrition. The Israeli Air Force carried out an air raid on the Egyptian village of Bahr el-Baqar, in the eastern province ofSharqiyya. Israel claims that it had thought the school was an Egyptian military installation.[1][2] The raid resulted in the destruction of a primary school that was in use during the attack, 46 child were killed and over 50 wounded.
